After the completion of the lesson, the students will be able to-

# Appreciate the different festivals celebrated in their families and the rituals associated with them.
# Relate the concept of essence of marriage in all religions.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

# Familiarize with the main festivals celebrated in our country.
# Identify the different types of marriage celebrations.
CONTENT FLOW ( DAY WISE LESSON PLAN AND TEACHING STRATEGY )
DAY 1 ,2- {Sub topics: Culture and diversity of culture}: As an introduction to the lesson, an you tube video will be shown to the students depicting the cultural elements and the differences in Indian culture.

This will not only help attract their interest towards the topic but also make the understanding easy.
DAY 3 { Sub topic- Festivals:}– Discussions will be made on the festivals celebrated by the students with their families. One to one interaction as well as group discussions will be made to highlight the important festivals of India. Here inductive method of teaching will be use
DAY 4 { Sub topic- Festivals}- ACTIVITY: Role play- Students will bring props related to each festival discussed and share a short presentation in the class.
DAY 5 { Sub topic-Marriages} - Slideshows will be shown to students on how different communities of people celebrate the marriage ceremonies. The pictures will highlight on the dress of the bride and groom, the rituals involved and other relevant features. Students will share their experiences in the wedding ceremonies they attended outside their communities. They will be asked to bring photographs that will be showcased in the class.
Slideshow Presentation :
Activity- Flash card making on different marriage ceremonies.
Day 6- Reciprocal teaching will be conducted for the first 15 minutes to ensure their thorough understanding. Then question answers from the lesson will be discussed and done by the students.
DAY 7 { Recapitulation}-The lesson will be concluded with the with an open discussion on the value of diversity of India that makes the country unique.
