Learning Outcomes
The learner will be able to:
·        Recognize and appreciate the support provided by family members
·        Love and respect the family bonds/ relationships
·        Appreciate family customs and traditions
·        Understand the importance of 'interaction' among the family members
Learning Objectives :
After the lesson students will be able to
·        State the importance of family
·        Explain the term " Family Traditions"
·        List the qualities of family members and relatives


·        Content flow- DAY 1 : The topic will be started with some questions related to
                                             the Family chapter done in  class IV.
·          Following topics will be discussed among the students
·         What they think of 'concept of family ?
·          Why interaction among the family members is important?
·        DAY 2: FAMILY SYSTEM
·        Students will be explained, how family system works like a chain with help of
      the examples.
·        Give a handout with the flow chart of the family cycle.
·        Students will be explain, what are family traditions with eg. like, i) respect for
      elders ii) caring and sharing etc.
·        HW – Students will be asked to find out, What family traditions are followed in 
      their family?
·        DAY 3: CARE AND APPRECIATION
·        Students will be explained , why care and appreciation for one another in a
      family is important?
·        With help of  class discussion, importance of interaction among the family
      members will be understood
·        Copy work
·        After discussing the importance of interaction, students will be asked questions
      like how their family members interact with each other and when & how in
      their family responsibilities are shared?
·        Students will be given situation like “during festival days how 
      responsibilities are shared among their family members.

·        DAY 4: FAMILY LIKES AND DISLIKES
·        Students will be explained, that in each family all the family members have
      their own likes & dislikes.
·        Here the topic will proceed with very simple Qs related to likes & dislikes of
      their family members
·        They will be given a situation like , if they don't like to do certain work at 
      home, but their mother want them to do the same, what they will do 'obey 
      or disobey'?
·        Students will be given a table to find out likes & dislikes of their family 
     members









·        Students will be made aware of their responsibilities at home using real life
      examples.
·        They should support their family in times of emergency & help the sufferer to
      overcome difficulties, as elders too help them & support them unconditionally.
·        H.W: Simple Qs will be asked like ,What type support is needed in case an 
      elderly member of a family is ill?
·        Whom would you call in case of an emergency at home?
·        DAY 5 : PARTICIPATION IN FAMILY ACTIVITIES
·        Students will be explained why participation in family activities is important
     like cooking, eating, singing etc.
·        Students will be asked, how they participate in family activities?
DAY 6 : OUR ROLE MODELS
·        Students will be explained the meaning of 'role model' and how their family
      members can play a significant role in choosing their role model.
·        By telling about great personalities, their deeds and messages in the form 
      of story  narration, gifting books or visiting monuments, museums, etc.

·        Remedial class on key concept will be taken for the.
·        To assess the students there will be oral or written test.
·        Simplified worksheets will be shared with the students
·        Some drilling sessions will be organized for such students.
