 Know about their responsibilities as  good citizens.

Learning Objectives
Children  will be able to list  the needs of the differently abled people.
Children will be able explain about role of  the Louis Braille and Pedro-de- Ponce.
Children will be able to define  Sign Language.

DAY 1
Meaning of the Sensitivity
OPTION 1
 1 - Video
Teacher will start  the lesson by showing them a video.

After seeing the video she will ask them :
What can you make out from the video ?
What facilities you think they need in their daily life?
Do you think our school have these facilities.


OPTION 2
 2- Visit to a school for children with special needs .
After the visit teacher will start with interactive session.
Special children have different needs so that's why they need different environment.
How was your visit?
What have you learned today?
Children will make list of the equipment used there by special children.

DAY 2
Living in a Quiet World




Starting of the topic will be done by showing the video of hearing impaired.

She will use the interaction method after the video to make students sensitive towards the needs of the special people.
She will also explain about the Pedro de Ponce and Juan Paulo Bonet. They have done a great job in educating people with special needs.


 3  (Hands on)

Suppose you are going in a car with you parents and you find a deaf or blind person trying to cross the road .
How will you help him ?

DAY 3

Living in a Dark world.

Teacher will tell children about the Louis Braille .
He  lost his eyes in an accident.
He was very fond of reading books.
He developed a script with raised dots of the letters grooved on paper.

 4 (Pictionary Activity)
Definition of Braille and picture

Teacher will give the meaning and children will paste the picture and write the meaning.








5 Making of a Dice with bindis , buttons , etc.

DAY 4

How to Develop the Sensitivity ?
Teacher will show them PPT To develop sensitivity.

Make a handout by writing 5 ways to develop Sensitivity along with pictures .

Presentation of an act  on Showing sensitivity
Class will be divided in the four groups and a one child will be made the group leader. Children will select the topic themselves and will plan the role play accordingly. Teacher should make sure the every child should participate in the activity.
