E- Lesson Plan Template

Ø Learning Outcomes
The students will be able to
Identify  the features of layers of the atmosphere
Relate the importance of atmosphere to human kind
Discuss the composition of atmosphere & apply that knowledge in real life
Realise the importance of rainfall in their life
Ø Learning objectives:
The students will be able to
Describe the structure of the atmosphere.
Decsribe the composition of air and enlist the various gases in it
Compare between atmospheric temperature & Wind Pressure
        Explain the mechanism of rainfall

Ø Content of the chapter
Ø Structure of the atmosphere( Four Different Layers)
Troposphere – Densest Layer, Weather Changes
Stratosphere –Calm & Clear Air, Aircrafts often fly in this layer
Mesosphere – Ozone is formed, Act as shield
Thermosphere – Thin layer, Ion particles(Wire Communication)
Ø Air & It’s Composition – Majorly 3 gases in the atmosphere
1.    Nitrogen – Occupies 78%, Used by plants to support their growth & Development
2.    Oxygen – Occupies 21% , Life Supporting Gas
3.    Carbon Dioxide – Occupies 0.03%, Cause of Global Warming, Cause in Increasing Temp.
Ø Pollutants In The Air
1.    Mobile - Automobiles release Gases like Carbon mono-oxide, Sulphuric Dioxide
2.    Natural – Volcanic eruptions & Forest fire
3.    Stationary – Factories
Ø Atmospheric Temperature & Pressure
1.    Instrument
2.    Unit of air pressure
3.    Variation in atmospheric temperature & pressure
4.    Wind
Ø Mechanism of Rainfall
1.    Water cycle and importance of rainfall
Ø Monitoring weather conditions
1.    Difference between weather and climate Uses of weather report

Ø Teaching strategy
1.    The teacher will explain the structure of atmosphere with the help of visuals. It  will also help them to understand the structure of the atmosphere
2.    It will be followed by a pie diagram on the topic composition of air. The students will be asked questions and discussion will be followed on percentage and importance of gases
3.    Class room discussion will be held on the topic pollutants of the air. The knowledge of this will help the students to reduce pollution
4.    Mechanism of rainfall will be explained with the help of diagram on the blackboard
5.    Students group reports on monitoring weather conditions- use of any newspaper report will help students to again a comprehensive study of weather reports
