CONTENT FLOW -
India’s
location on globe- Tropic of Cancer, Sub tropical India, tropical

India’s
extent – Latitudinal and
longitudinal extent of India, Indian Standard Time
The
smiling face of our country - Varied landforms and relief features. The land
features are divided as the Northern Mountains, the Northern Plains, the
Coastal plains, the Islands.
Political
divisions- India has been divided
into 29 states and 7 union territories, union territories and their capitals
TEACHING STRATEGY –
·
Introduction with the help of discussion method. World map (political) will be shown to describe
the countries larger than India.
·
India’s
location on globe will be
explained to the students and video
of India’s geographical location will be shown to them.
·
Through the
political map of India India’s neighboring countries will be explained
to the students through an activity.
Activity - Students will be asked to find out the neighboring
countries on the map of India in an Atlas.
·
India’s relief features (the Northern
Mountains and the Northern plains will be explained
and discussed with the help of map.
·
Powerpoint presentation will be shown to the students regarding the deserts,
the great plateau, the coastal plains, the islands.
·
Question
based on current affairs will
be asked in order to check the previous knowledge of the students regarding India’s political divisions. Political
map of India will be shown to the students in order to discuss about the
political features and union territories.
